Horrible Histories is a funny and irreverent Monty Python-inspired sketch show that uses wit and gross-out humor to highlight some of the more unsavory aspects of history. Each episode incorporates sketches and songs across a range of time periods. Browse the time-stamped Sketch Lists to track down every sketch within a topic, from “Savage Stone Age” to “Woeful Second World War.”

TED-Ed Video Updates • winter 2021

TED-Ed produces excellent educational videos on a wide range of topics in history, science, math, and language arts. Over a dozen new videos from late 2020 to early 2021 have been embedded on the World History, US History, and Science topic pages.

Guide to Lab-Based Physical Science • summer 2020

For a hands-on approach to elementary homeschool science, we developed a Week-By-Week Lab-Based Guide to Physical Science (PDF). This free, flexible guide is divided into six units and corresponds to a year-long integrated Physical Science study of topics across Chemistry and Physics.

Launch! • Spring 2020

In March 2020, the world locked down and parents everywhere suddenly found themselves educating their children at home. We used our time in lockdown to put the finishing touches on the years’ long project of building this website, and Best Homeschool Resources was launched in late spring.
